The following video contains an example of how police interrogation techniques can lead a suspect to confess to a murder he didn’t commit. The suspect dreamed that he was involved in the murder and then mentioned the dream to his friends, who then contacted the police.
The suspect had no motive to commit the murder, had no memory of the murder and there was no evidence he committed the murder. That didn’t stop the police. The police spoon feed the suspect details of the murder and secure a false confession. Meanwhile, the real killer is on the loose.

A pamphlet provides advice to heroin users on the proper ways to shoot up is causing some controversy. One bit of the pamphlet’s advice is to “find the vein before you try to inject.” Interesting pamphlet, but there is no safe way to use heroin. Remember possession of heroin in the State of Utah is a third degree felony. Distribution of heroin is a second degree felony. However, these offenses are often enhanced one degree because the offenses occurred within a 1000 feet of a park, church or school. Can A “Shoplifting” Dog Be Charged with a Utah Criminal Offense?

In Utah, a dog can not be charged with a theft. Utah’s criminal code holds people and corporations criminally liable for theft charges; however, canines are not included.
Under Utah Code Annotated 76-2-202, “every person, acting with the mental state required for the commission of an offense who directly commits the offense, who solicits, requests, commands, encourages, or intentionally aids another person to engage in conduct which constitutes an offense shall be criminally liable as party for such conduct.”
A corporation may be criminally responsible if the “conduct constituting the offense is authorized, solicited, requested, commanded, or untaken, performed, or recklessly tolerated by the board of directors or by a high managerial agent acting within the scope of his employment and in behalf of the corporation or association.” See U.C.A. 66-2-204.
Again, there is no criminal liability for a shoplifting dog.
